Fales-Williams Named ISU Morrill Professor

Dr. Amanda Fales-Williams, professor and chair of the Department of Veterinary Pathology and the Tyrone D. Artz, M.D. Chair for Teaching Excellence, has been named a Morrill Professor at Iowa State University.

The Morrill Professor recognizes faculty members whose professional work has demonstrated outstanding success in teaching and learning in undergraduate, graduate and/or Extension/outreach programs which is reflected by a national or international reputation in the nominee’s discipline.

A faculty member in the College of Veterinary Medicine since 1995, Fales-Williams is instructor-in-charge of two core courses in the Department of Veterinary Pathology and is coordinator of the department’s anatomic residency program.

She is the past recipient of several awards including the ISU Award for Early Achievement in Teaching, the ISU Award for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching, the ISU Award for Early Achievement in Departmental Leadership, and the Dr. William O. Reese Award for Outstanding Advising in the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Fales-Williams is also the past president of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association.
