Cattleman’s Hall

Russ and Phyllis Rekemeyer met while students at Iowa State University and their careers have taken them to many Iowa towns. Now residing in the Ablia area, the couple was recently presented the Cattlemen’s Hall of Fame Award by the Monroe County Cattlemen for their “tireless promotion of beef both locally and statewide.” Russ Rekemeyer has worked with Greenway Farms, which helped create the Iowa Beef Improvement Association which ultimately became the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association. He is also a past faculty member in Iowa State’s Veterinary Diagnostics Laboratory.
