Danielson Named Associate Dean

Dr. Jared Danielson, associate professor of veterinary pathology, has been named associate dean for academic and student affairs in Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. He has served for the past year in the same role on an interim basis.

In this position, Danielson will provide administrative leadership, oversight and coordination of academic and instructional programs, academic information technology, educational outreach/distance education and global learning opportunities.

“In his various roles in the college, Dr. Danielson consistently puts our students first,” said Dr. Lisa K. Nolan, the Dr. Stephen G. Juelsgaard Dean of Veterinary Medicine. “His vision is of a student body that is ‘incredibly competent, happy and healthy, and perfectly satisfied’ with their experience at Iowa State.

“He has also been key in providing our teaching faculty with career-enhancing opportunities including encouraging learning about the science of teaching and learning; using formative evaluation to improve educational outcomes; and supporting institutional incentives that encourage excellence.”

A faculty member at Iowa State since 2002, Danielson also served as the college's director of curricular and student assessment. He holds a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech.
