Noxon Named "Veterinary Hero"

Dr. James Noxon, Morrill Professor of veterinary clinical sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine, has been named a recipient of dvm360's second annual "Veterinary Heroes" award.

The program celebrates the achievements of outstanding veterinary professionals who have worked to advance the field and make a difference in animal care. 

Noxon, who will be recognized in the dermatology category, will be honored in August at the Fetch dvm360 conference in Kansas City.

A long-time Iowa State faculty member, Noxon earned his DVM from Colorado State University. He is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. 

In addition to being named an Iowa State Morrill Professor in 2015 for "outstanding performance in teaching and learning," Noxon received the 2015 Frank Kral Award for Achievements in Veterinary Dermatology. That award was presented by the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology. That same year he receive the ISU Alumni Association's Faculty-Staff Inspiration Award.
