Dr. James A. Roth is a Clarence Hartley Covault Distinguished Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University and Member of the National Academy of Medicine in the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Preventive Medicine. He also is Director of the ISU Center for Food Security and Public Health, Executive Director of the Institute for International Cooperation in Animal Biologics, and Adjunct Professor in the College of Public Health at the University of Iowa. He is a member of the council of advisors for the One Health Commission. Dr. Roth received the Public Service Award from the American Veterinary Medical Association and the USDA APHIS Administrator’s award for lifetime achievements in animal health.
