Research Focus & Interests

Dr. Yaeger has experience in infectious disease and food animal research, and an emphasis on all species diagnostics. His current research is in food-borne illness and abortion caused by Campylobacter sp. using laboratory animal models for the disease. A guinea pig model is used to evaluate the emergence of a Tetracycline-resistant Campylobacter jejuni Clone Associated with Outbreaks of Ovine Abortion in the United States. Sheep have been experimentally infected with the highly abortifacient.
